Mad confession

Mad confession

A Poem by isiah_holmes

Sitting tranquil beneath a pile of leaves
A pound and a half of tree trophies
Treasures to the birds and larva among them
Laying quietly in wait

As I crawled up from the trophies
As I snuck beneath the vines and veins of the trees
I crept across a saddened sight
A cold humanizing laugh cackling past my ear
My left ear
Then snuck into my brain and down my spine settled
Nestled..in my eyes

"Are you a friend? Are you a fellow wondering wanderer?"
It called back with malice and spiteful trickery
"Are you an enemy or are you a cruel friend?"
It stayed silent with an invisible smile
Cold breath, friendless breath
I found that this intrusive visitor was nothing at all

I could see that it could be easily ignored
I wonder, I truly wonder
I wonder if it will ever go away
Not that I really care, a kinder evil is used to it

So then it refused to quiet under concious neglect
So then I smled and realized I must be patient
Patient with the unneeded companion
Patient to all those crossing my way
Patient
So, so I can see that I am...what?
Who's there?
Who's there?
Who's there I say!
