Three AM over hereA Poem by ivy
I miss the rain and New York City. I don't know what I'm looking for. Did you know that everytime a car horn sounds, I think of your voice in my ear?
I think I want to stand amongst buzzing crowds of people, feel a part of something underneath. I want life fueling around me, everyone inside their own needs. I want noise and harshness, shoveling and shoulders bumping. Maybe I want to be ignored too, just a little. New York is pretty cold right about now. If I went and settled down, would you join me for a Costco run? I'll show you the signs of neon and my hallway, the light that always flickers when turned on. Would you want me then? Around so many people that don't care? I think it's easier to hold onto something that's distant and loud. Life gets so quiet here I think I sometimes miss the sound. © 2025 ivyAuthor's Note
