Snowflake and the Mermaid

Oh so corny but cute. Attempt at another micro story in 2013.

Twas a special little snowflake that shimmered in the sunlight. With a heart as big as no other of its kind, it sought to travel the world and mingle with other snow flake clans as well as mother nature's other creatures. Till he noticed a spectacular shimmering mermaid, swimming down below....She looked up at him and he felt mesmerised and lost his footing. Falling down below hitting the water would have meant his death, but alas the beautiful mermaid rescued him on the back of her tail just at the last minute. She brought him up to her face to have a look at the beautiful little snowflake. Looking into his eyes she blushed and felt her heart skip a beat...

She gently put him down on the bank and smiled at him. That's when he proceeded to tell her that he was going to travel all around the world. He saw her smile fade away, and so he told her that she could travel alongside him! Her smile returned. And so it was agreed upon, he would travel upon the winds, and she would be by his side down below in its oceans....

One sunny day it was all going well, she had crossed 2 oceans, and he had avoided any storms or hurricanes, when a gust of really strong wind blew him far into the distance. Many nights and days had passed and the mermaid had continued to travel and search for him, but to no avail.

Many months passed and the mermaid was getting close to arriving at their destination. She had given up of ever seeing the beautiful little snow flake again. Two beautiful starry nights passed and the mermaid arrived at a luscious green bank that encircled the most spectacular rainfall and rainbow she had ever seen. She noticed a mesmerizing sparkle and was drawn closer to the water fall. There shining on the rainbow was the snowflake. Tears started to run down her cheeks as she could not contain her joy.

Could this actually be a kid's book? Lol. I could just picture the adorable little illustrations.
