The Tally

List of things done in a typical college day.

Spent six hours in a deli.
Met up with some muchachos.
After five scotches,
I was their entertainment.
Laughingly, my four friends
offered me rides home.
Three times I woke in the night
because my body disapproved
of the decisions I'd made
and wanted me to pay my dues
in bile and spit
but the next noon-
when I came back from the black-
two gatorades helped
to ease the harshness
of one long, hungover day.
