Writers Write

a reminder

Writers write, they say

An exercise as sure as

Lifting weights

I strain  I struggle

To exert poetic force

A weaklings’ skill still

Reading others

Feeds the muscles

Protein powder of the mind

Some are darlings

To be killed

 Others are damnable

In their ensemble

Oh muse if I keep vigil

Will you visit and

Lend me your command?
