My ex-girlfriend always wanted a poem. I wrote this when we broke up.

I’m sorry for the things I’ve done.

I’m sorry for the things I’ve said.

I’m sorry for the pain I’ve caused.

I’m sorry for the tears you’ve shed.

 

I’m sorry for the promises broken.

I’m sorry for the times I let you down.

I’m sorry for the lectures given.

I’m sorry for never being around.

 

I’m sorry for ignoring your calls.

I’m sorry for backing out of plans.

I’m sorry for taking so much “me” time.

I’m sorry for being a child, not a man.

 

I’m sorry for aiming my anger at you.

I’m sorry for putting me before you.

I’m sorry this is your poem I finally wrote.

I’m sorry that I’m so sorry because all of this is true.
