The title carries a clue in the wording…

 

You know the scent

That you seek

One that defines

The very present

Of your inner being

 

Seeking out a fragrance

After it catches your sense

Yet finding the closer

You get

The more

It failed to capture

Your essence

 

After many stops

Various different tries

An aroma entered my senesce

Caught my sense

It was yours
