A Night at the DojoA Poem by Jay SteitlerAfter a 24 hr dry spell, an itch to write about a personal hobbyConfidence, courtesy, strength, and control, that's how the karate student is expected to roll. With an image as a lethal art, enrollment sets the courageous and timid apart. Down blocks, side blocks, head blocks, and punches. But basic calasthenics are important, so don't forget those crunches! Some nights there's nothing as hard as that bag. Those are the times for extra effort, and swag. The stench of sweat. Electricity in the air. Come join a dojo, if your dare!
