Witch

Witch

A Poem by Jess Rose

I know that she is everywhere
I turn around and see
Another person standing there
Grinning back at me

I know she's thinking evil thoughts
Ones that aren't my own
I know that fighting's all for naught
When she gets me alone

In the silence of the room
She whispers in my ear
Words of horror, death and doom
That I don't want to hear

I know that she won't go away
I know that she is stronger
But I can hold out for the day
Maybe even longer

Ignore her shadow, drop my gaze
Mute her deadly voice
Perhaps this is just a phase
I don't have that much choice

Whenever I try to ditch
She laughs at my rejection
That dirty little evil witch
That is my own reflection

You were talking about your own reflection all along? Wow, I can so much relate to that. Nice poem! :)
