carrots

carrots

A Poem by J. DeVine
"

2009

"
lost in your
alphabet cereal i
can almost hear
the ocean burning red
crocodiles into the
span of foggy night

jersey dank sewer air
infects and distorts as
a disease tumor
and now you
shudder to run
the swirly cigarette
butts smeared along the interstate

i'd fly across the sea of
brine and sewage just to hear
your spoon hit my bowl

not a word
