rabbit foot

rabbit foot

A Poem by J. DeVine
"

2009

"
time shrinks
peanut stained to do
lists eat sleep and fade

books and blenders and
souvenirs of the home, i wonder
do the fireflies remember
alex and me and old margarine
tubs homemade lanterns
handmade fairytales

snowwhite-snowstorms
pink lucky rabbit foot(
origins escape me
)and
and a labyrinth under our lawn
winter melts as i blow
out the candles but but but

don't you feel the seasons
are growing short?
