two little shes

two little shes

A Poem by J. DeVine
"

2009

"
the two little shes
wrap in aprons
their little
she wastes

the two little shes
work four little hes
with clorox christmases
spent on their little
she knees

the two little shes
breathe the dust off
history books and sterling
frames, and as sippy cups
melt into water bottles
of opportunity and their
little she smiles
are stained by time

their little she dreams
adjust

the two little shes
in front of the glass
deep red and
aged, through the
double reflection you
can't see her eyes
