I saw you in the treesA Poem by JD JessopI saw you in
the trees In trees that
lost their crown Your eyes
were black as coal Your ears a
walnut brown The winter
wind was icy The sky
December grey I didn’t seem
to notice Your presence melted cares away And then I
saw the others Cautious coming
down the path Felt pang of
sharp regret This sweet moment would not last But friends know this I’m thankful That we passed each other’s way With heavy heart now lifted I bid thee friends’ good day
