Praise The Sun

Today is a good day.

I woke up today with a smile on my face,

not for any reason but the sun shining in my place.

The natural light was soft and soothing,

I wish it was a little less bright so I can keep snoozing.

Today felt different right off the bat,

I really can't explain the meaning behind that.

I have been all moody as of late,

thoughts of forever alone being my fate.

For some reason I no longer care, I can't explain why,

like Jordan in Space Jam, I believe I can fly.

I know it sounds a tad silly to say it like that,

but the smile on my face has me feeling like that.

I would love more days of me having this feeling,

it sure as hell beats just staring at the ceiling.

I will do my best to work on me, going forward,

a happier me is something I can seriously work toward.

I will leave you with this as I type at my workstation,

Today I feel as though I finally understand the meaning of elation.
