Sitting Here...

sat down and wrote this, nothing fancy just some feelings I needed to write down.

Sitting here trying to figure out how I feel,

The way it is now, there's no way it's real.

I cared about you more than I admit I should,

We never really had a chance, even though I thought we would.

An emptiness now fills my chest,

The light you brought is now laid to rest.

I don't know how to I will live without you,

Your smile, your laugh, would always push me through. 

You made me strive to be better than I was,

Thanks to you, now, I am stronger than I ever was.

Writing this down, to me is an escape,

A freeing notion that is mine to take.

I know I'll get through this, and see the other side,

I will be around you and I will be fine, no longer will I hide.

I can't let you see how hurt I've become,

A sadness I honestly never fathomed.

It's probably trivial in the end,

At least I'll always know, I have you as a friend.
