It's the Year 1556...

A Story by Paramount

It's the year 1556, a lonely peasant was traveling a road alone. He grew weary from his long journey, so he decided to turn off and sleep under a willow tree--for he had not enough to stay the night in the prestige castle a few kilometers away. The wind decided to pick up and the peasant awoke because he recognized the sound of the howl. He then turned quickly seeing lightning strike another tree a kilometer away and knew right then and there, he had to move. But where? he knew he had to because the last time he witnessed this kind of weather, a tornado was not far behind. Two years ago, when he was 18, his father was killed. What happened was this. Lightning struck a huge tree down to the ground and a tornado picked it up like a twig and slammed it right onto his father, thus crushing him. So, as it was, he hurried to find a ditch with which to take cover. It was quite difficult due to the violent wind though. But fortunately, he managed to find one and crouch down, waiting until the storm had passed. But then, out of nowhere, it began to rain a great downpour. He looked up and just happened to see a piece of something that resembled plywood and rushed to take cover under it. Some time had passed and everything finally stopped. He crawled over and looked up at the sky. It was such a beautiful blue sky with a few white clouds hovering high above and to his utter amazement, he turned to his right and saw a double rainbow. He was awestruck for he had never once seen this before in his entire life. This definitely put a smile on his face. After he was done staring at this wonder, he got up a noticed a nice sized rock with which to lay his clothes on to dry them. There was a slight breeze, which was perfect. So he walked over there, took off his clothes, rung them out, and laid them on the rock. Once they finished air-drying, he put his clothes back on and completed his journey, ending up in his cousin's village a good distance away.
