The Beauty of Words

The Beauty of Words

A Poem by Riley Bray

Words are beauty.
Beauty is words.
Literate or not
You wield the power
Of allure.

They can be lust, like
sensual,
take,
claim,
possess,
use,
consume.

Or they can be disgust, like
abomination,
revulsion,
loathing,
abhorrence,
antipathy,
repugnance.

They can be sharp, like
acute,
barbed,
jagged,
horned,
pronged,
serrated.

Or they can be soft, like
amity,
amour,
caress,
tender,
emotion,
devotion.

Words are beauty.
Beauty is words.
Literate or not
You wield the power
Of allure.

Thank you, I wasn't so sure about this one. :)

But it turns out to be a great exhibition of vocabulary :)
That is the beauty of the English language, and the power we have as writers, when we wield the words, use them like a surgeon's tool, to express that exact feeling of lust, disgust, texture of emotion. Cool poem!!
