Writing On Water

Writing On Water

A Poem by Riley Bray
"

Ever so clear are clouded thoughts.

"
Alone does a clock pendulum swing,
Flourishing with each tick ending,
And singing at the birth and death of a new hour.

Before it a little boy lays,
Parchment scrawl spread out under tiny hands,
Which flow smoothly across each free line.

And on those pages never seen,
He scribbles down his quiet thoughts,
Capturing the disappearing last of him.

Writing on water... I love that analogy... whatever we create only lasting for the smallest microsecond and never long enough to clearly see the line that you have drawn across its surface. The ticking of the pendulum... each moment dies the moment it is born... The dissapearing last of him... the imagery in here is gripping and tragically sad. another beautiful piece of yours Riley. Part of this will stay with me...
