Desert Oragami

Desert Oragami

A Poem by Amber Bariaktari
"

poem about the desert and mirages.

"

Desert Orgami

Feast on the lives

in the desert, mirage

of Orgami animals

sipping the mirage

of rain

Where is the truth?

When all that lies

in the desert

setting sun and dried up

bones, the oragami birds burn

with the dry prickling heat

of the catcus, underneath

wet and moist, but only

those with long hard noses

can penetrate that kind of

sweet rain

desert oragami, mirage of

mosit and wet ripples

the truth is out their

the paper folded over,

like birds wings, in multi colored streamers

the boy drinks from his orgami cup

and walks towards the sunset and

hopes to find more water,

as he drinks the last sip
