He whispered through his fingers: "Help me," like a baby in a new world. He opened his eyes more only when she cried. It was a softened cry, Smothered by the isolation of his closeness.
When he touched her, She tried to sink out of her own body. She focused her gaze on the trees, Envying how they freely bended under pressure. She wished he could see her leaves falling off her branches.
One day he transformed his baby-like confusion. He decided to use her to discover himself in glory. He touched her hair as it glittered in the fading sunlight. "I love you." he said, releasing a parasite into her system. Now every time he said it, it gave her a little bite.
She thought, "We love each other so much." It was almost like duty to each other. But who was more of a slave? She felt her roots freeze under his feet.
One day her mouth drooped and her eyes fell open. She had found the parasite inside her flesh. She dug and dug, but found only the tears and blood of the past. The blank white walls enclosed around her, shape shifting in chaos.
This one realization changed all that she was. So one day she told him, "I can't do this anymore." He didn't know what "this" was or where it was headed. But she had already joined forces with her unconscious and seen it all.
Hmm, sad and sort of disconnected; similar to how we trudge through the confusion and chaos of all our own struggles in life.
Interesting that the words give the sense of the poem, and the music amplifies it; as though your writing lays the base structure of a house and the music weaves through, leaving behind ghost décor to give a feel for the home it could be.
