Poem on the Spot

probably close to - if not the worst piece I've ever written.... a dare to write a poem on the spot in two minutes flat..........

Poem on the spot.

 

 

Never thought I would do it
write a poem on the spot
The computer blinks
my fingers stray
and my mind is just a blot.

Now it seems I've done it
it wasn't really hard
My memory stinks

my fingers tapped
oh Gosh, I'm not a bard.

But now I find it's over
for good or bad it's done
my tired eye blinks
my fingers sleep
and I guess I never won.

I thought it was great for a two minute wonder! It had me chuckling since it was a poem about writing a poem. :)
I loved the last two lines. Seemingly as how the fingers were in a contest with the mind and the fingers quit before the mind did.

hee hee i love stuff like this, when you manage to get stream of consciousness happening with a rhyme! the only thing i would suggest is to take the "and" out of the last line, it trips up the flow a little. but that's just my opinion.
