WHISPER ON THE WIND

Long ago

A single soul

Shipwrecked

On the sea of life

Searched

The unending void

Seeking

The key to unlock

The icicle

Called a heart

 

Then

from the darkness

came a glow

a single

gleaming light

and

with it came

a single name

a whisper

on the wind.

 

Embers flamed

Desires blazed

Passion

Stirred the blood

Haunted eyes

Gazed within

Untouched

By passion’s flood.

 

With

Haunted eyes

And frozen heart

This soul

Just

Turned away

Searching

Ever searching for

A golden flame

A single name

A whisper

On the wind.
