for the "Quickie Poetry " contest

Because

 

 

 

What a simple word

And it easily sleeps with why.

A child asks "why?" endlessly

A parent answers "Because"

An endless circle of questions

and answers going nowhere.

A true observation very well-penned. It never seemed adequate for me to answer my daughter's "why" with anything less than a good explanation. I'd like to think that fact helped prepare her for the teaching career she chose.
