False alarm

        We lie there silently

   your back turned towards mine

 i almost dared to utter " i love you"

 Just so you would know i'm here

  "hello!" i say inside my head,

     and wait for your reply,

 but the distance is all i hear,

  between your head and mine.

             You move,

             and i wait,

"is he going to touch me this time?"

         But my heart sinks, 

      it's another false alarm.
