as a young girl i was so in awe

of the graceful lines that poured from your fingers

you told me, once,

that artists don't believe

in colouring inside the lines

that artists, the real rebels,

don't do things in paint by number stiffness,

preferring the pigments that create their souls

to break out across the page..

i always thought i'd get to know you

as an adult

as a fellow writer

as a fellow rebel spirit

but fear of rejection

stayed my fingers from hitting "send"

time and time again

i wish i had been braver

for in the small amount of time we had together

you taught me to trust in my abilities

to believe in my own magic

instilling a love of words

a love of creativity in every form

I have read this one before..and one can relate better once one knows the person and the story behind it..you have such a kind heart jennie...very few of us do forget to express the feeling of gratitude for people who have passed us by...there are a few who influence our lives in a great way even if they have spent not much of a time with us...few of us realize there importance....
