i wanted to write

something on love

but the words all curdled,

unspent, inside my brain

words are not

what is needed here

not even remotely satisfying

to the emptiness within my arms

there's a smile missing

from the precise corner

of the heart

you alone taught to flourish

Words dwindle and die a slow death when they are matched with the task of expressing emotions. Words have to many limits, too many misunderstanding, and too many meanings to be broad enough to encompass the entire being of love. Words to give us that brief glimpse, the brief feeling or emotion just enough for us to understand by relating it back to an experience we once lived. I relate to this poem more than anyone can imagine.

You write the most amazing things, simple or complex. And sometimes you just pinpoint exactly how I feel, and I'm sure many others. That last stanza feels stolen from my heart.....this is absolutely beautiful.
