you.A Poem by jenniewren (J.W. Bouwman)
daily, you punch my heart
with a fist of happiness filled with melancholy you trace the curls of my laughter with a sharpie pen to hold them in place for posterity the very overthereness of your presence gives me the greatest sense of joy because i know you are but the distance draws heavy upon me some days and i curl my fingers round a mug instead of warmly round yours an awkward silence fills my mind at these times and i wait to see the words of greeting i need to restart the liquid sunshine you pour into my smile
