I have three sons five years old or younger, and they just don't get that I'm feelin' like spit.
Sick and tired
Immune system fired
Feelin so bad
But gotta be dad
Gotta stay on my feet
Watch listen repeat
Repeat repeat repeat
My life is complete
Now if I could just take
A five minute break
A snack you say?
It's on the way
(If you say please
And ate all of your veggies)
Have some cheese
No? How bout these?
Try using English
And not childese.
There you have it
Happy now?
Take a bow
Exit quick
To the room
Listen for big booms
By myself
Check the shelf
Where's my lukewarm soda?
Where's my Yoda
To teach me the ways of the force
Of course,
I've got skills
Force of will
I will see all those teeth brushed
No rush
Take your time
It's your stories we're missing, not mine
Lay your heads
In your beds
I'll go hack up a lung
So fun
Rest my sons
Hahahahha!!! I needed this giggle!!! lolol... This poem is absolute hilarity. As a mom who had two under two at once on her own, attending college, and working, I can appreciate this feeling. Sick? Nope, no time for sick! Your'e on the clock Dad! Freaking great read... :)

Haha! Yes... The struggle is real, my friend... The struggle is real. :)
The frantic pace it wonderfully captured!
We sometimes need relief from the sighing and crying! And the end was touching, made more so by the chaos that proceeded it (and perhaps a knowledge of parenting).

Thanks! You're right, this one is definitely meant for those who can sympathize. :)

My name is Jeremy, and I try to live creatively. When I was a child I thought of myself as an artist, and never stopped. I am a lucky dad that gets to be with my 3 young sons full time, working some n.. more..
