The Lost Tale of Humanity

The Lost Tale of Humanity

A Poem by Jeff
"

to be truly selfless in nature

"

At that moment, a moment that stood for an eternity

He had his chance.

If it weren't then, then it would never be.

Time waited for him, tapping her foot to rhythm of life

But no more would she wait.

He had lost.

Ha! I laughed at him, thinking what a fool

But he only looked at me.

His shrewd eyes told another tale, for it was Time that lost.

For as she waited for him, all the world around them continued

Living the everlasting life.

A ceaseless existence from one selfless act.
