Underneath the smileA Poem by LuciaDedicated to a certain person in my life, whom I love dearly, yet am never able to impress.
Scars decorating my wrists and knees, Hidden wounds beneath my skin The deepest torment ails the heart. With each passing pulsation, A pang of heartbreak strikes. Unshed tears veil blue eyes, With fists clenching tight against skin. Nauseating emotions engross my being, I withdraw into myself once more, Disappointment leaking from every pore. Why can’t you see that everything I have done has been for
you? © 2012 LuciaAuthor's Note
