A Clean Break

A beaten story line,

It's the same, for all the people who walk in silence

There is no cure, there is no hope

There's only you, that infamous you

 

I got away, but it wasn't a clean break

Love's got me by the ankles and wont relent

But do I want it to?

What if this is the best that I can do?

Longing for you long after you have gone

 

But it's not your fault, it's not anybody's

What you do, you don't do anything

And that's why, I can't explain my need to hold on

To nothing at all

 

You don't give me anything,

I lay it all and I lay it thick on myself

I need to get away,

I can't keep living in this false sense
