You Don't Get It

You Don't Get It

A Poem by jessfoundwonder

Hello, my stranger-friend. I used to think I knew you

But our stories ended in summer's sleep

And new loves took our places

And you still think I was ever changed

By your startling form and tremendous grace

But if you really must know how I feel

Well, listen clearly now

My life was splitting at the seams

And you were in the right place at the right time for the time being

And I was blind to all I had to lose

And I held on to you

It was terrifyingly breath taking

I wish I had known what I have learned, though

You are no prince and I don't wear ball gowns

And you think you're the only one who doesn't care

Well, f**k you, you never changed a thing

In my like, no, you just showed me

How low you are and how naive I can be

So go on boy, it's been too long

I'm over you're lies and your stupid love songs

I wish I hadn't heard them

No, I never want to be friends

And look what you've done

Your gossip and drama, Why do you do this

You're so ordinary

Leave my life where you left it

I cant handle any more of your s**t
