The Conversation

A Poem by jessfoundwonder

What do you think of me?

-You were the first. And it's hard to compete with love.

So you love me?

-I think some place deep down I do. But there, I also hate you.

Why's that?

-You took a piece of me. You're with me all the time. I can't shake it.

But what if that's how it's supposed to feel?

-What are you talking about?

What if only our timing was wrong?

-What are you saying?

I'm saying that I love you.

-But don't you hate me too?

I could never hate someone like you.

-So what do you want?

I want to be yours.

-I can't breathe.

Just say what your heart thinks.

-I think it's too easy to love you and I'm scared.

And I'm sorry.

-You hurt me before.

I know. But I love you.

-You said that last time.

I was so stupid. I can't let you go. I need you.

-Just give me time.

I'll love you no matter what.
