A Poem by jessfoundwonder

I am not a filing cabinet
And I am not a mattress or a rug
Or anything you've ever seen or imagined

You might think that I'm like other people
And I am
I have arms and legs and I do things I shouldn't

I tell lies, but have good intentions
I smile when I don't want to
And I eat when I'm upset

But I also have things that I have yet to encounter
My brain runs differently
I'm neither brilliant nor incompetent
I'm just unlike them

I love intellect
Half of it doesn't make common sense
I love conversation

I hate arrogance, stupidity, and closed minds
No one should have an empty head
When it's such an easy thing to fill
Brilliance is everywhere
