In Honor of Laura Marling

In Honor of Laura Marling

A Poem by jessfoundwonder

I am just as I've always been
And I never meant to bleed on your floor
And I never meant to cause you such an awful, little mess
But I'm quite the creator of such

I judge honesty with the best fairness I've got
But you haven't got it
You never did lie, but you swallowed things I should know
And it's hard to respect what I thought that you were
You're not anything I ever saw anymore
You're a stranger

But the world is so clear, when you think you've been beat
I'll keep only myself close as it turns
I'll take everything I gave away, back where it should be
Especially my heart, it is mine
