been away for awhile

I got swallowed by the poetry vortex

it took my cerebral cortex

that's why you haven't seen me in a few

I found other things my mind could do

I figured I better come back and work it

and get back on the poetry circuit

Ooh, so the vortex isn't like a black hole and doesn't keep you then? I'm glad, would have been awful o keep falling into nothingness forever, with no lights on, scary biscuits. But glad to see you crawled out, with cerebral cortex intact. Well, intact(ish) :)
Love the vortex cortex play on words, very clever and eloquently put.
