My Dear

My Dear

A Poem by Jessica Wood
"

I have always had a fear of losing the one I love. So I wrote this.

"

My Dear

Long ago I knew you were gone,

that treacherous storm took you from me,

I wish every night you were here,

by my side once again,

but here I wait,

lonely.

I wish to see you one last time,

so I could tell you all the things I never said,

your face still appears in my dreams,

I can still sense your presence

but still here I lay,

waiting.

I miss you my dear,

but I know from up above,

you are still caring for me,

still loving me,

but I wish,

it was me instead.

I like the structure very much and the story was on point. To mourn and live at the same time is always a place for great poetry to grow. Beautiful job
