August Auspicious month

Shravan Mass the month of Shravan �" rains and bonalu for the Goddess

When August comes, my mother used to do fastings, poojas and the pochamma goddess prayer and make her bonam. She is the Goddess who protects the kids from diseases and along with Hen giving to her either a goat if they are rich.

We are going to celebrate this in this month too.

Being me mother I used to do this pooja when I was away in USA, to pray for my son.

Bonam is prasad, where yellow rice is made for Goddess, and we put it in pot and carry it on head and take it to temple to offer for her. Its like Onam where we cook rice the grain from fields and offer for to God.
