Cement and wings...A Chapter by JessyJacob
🕊️ “Cemented Wings”
Her bed"someone sleeps, not her, Her dress, her earrings"worn, Her lactose aches in silence, Her back bruised by scorn. Her room"no longer sacred, Her soul devours itself, Her wings, once wide and golden, Now shattered on the shelf. Who is she, this fading flame? I see the world adore me still, But she"she shuts me out, A void I cannot fill. Why didn’t God reach down, And halt her fall in time? If someone shadows me, Do they close off others’ climb? Two girls"enough, perhaps, To stop her bleeding heart, We live untouched by filth, Yet in the filth we start. We gave beyond our measure, Will God now intervene? Or must we stop her, Or die in the unseen? As in the bedroom, or the grave, We share one cement skin" Layered thick with sorrow, Yet bound as next of kin. © 2025 JessyJacob |
