The life we carry as in books

A Chapter by JessyJacob

🌌 Beneath the Sky in 2030

by Jessy Jacob (poetic adaptation)

I wonder how the sky will glow
On this planet we call home in 2030"so.
I say it funnily, like a stupid might sigh,
“I die,” but he stops"“Where are our two kids?”"why?

The ones I gave to you, our light, our grace,
Didn’t you hide from cry, from time’s embrace?
“Yes, Ji,” you say, “I did, I forgot,”
Dementia came, and with it, we lost the plot.

We forgot where we are, who we’ve been,
Floating in memory’s fragile skin.
He says, “Say mantra, sing to Jesus, pray"
Never ever lose hope, don’t let it stray.”

Once gone, it’s too late to reclaim the days,
The bygone dreams, the eggs we ought to lay.
I pray, you pray"God within, not far"
Why worry, when we hold our pain like stars?

In our palms, the ache still burns,
But through the dark, the spirit turns.
We are here, not lost, not gone,
Just waiting for the light of dawn.
