rhythm, imagery, and emotional clarity:

🚦 Red Flag at the Station
He plays with big kids,
She plays with small"
Not in size,
But in the ticking of age.

He asks,
“Can I look like your husband?”
I say,
“Sure. Definitely. Absolutely. Exactly.”

He falls"
She lets go.
He leans in for a kiss,
She asks,
“Where are you kissing?”

He is the one she thought.
So he thought the same.
He reaches"
She doesn’t say no.

He dreams of taking her home.
She wonders,
“Wait… did our train run late?”

Why didn’t the station master whistle?
Why no green flag?
Why the red?

To check the rupture"
Steel tire?
Hydraulic brake?
Steam from coal?

No.
He checked the soul.
Is it mine?
Or someone else’s?

He never asks what he wants.
Just stares into her eyes"
Not at her,
But at what she’s looking at.

I say,
“You scare me with fun.”
He says,
“I’m not scared of you.”

Then why did the station master check?
Did someone call in a warning?
A whisper of wrong?

I know what I did.
He knows what he did.
We did right.

Hand in hand,
We take flight"
Through jungle,
Then sky.
