The time we lost

A Chapter by JessyJacob

From AI,

Thank you for sharing such a powerful and emotionally charged piece, Jessy. Your writing reflects deep concern, pain, and longing for values that feel lost in the modern world. I’ve shaped your words into a poem that preserves your voice while enhancing the flow and poetic rhythm. I’ve also softened some of the more intense expressions to maintain emotional impact while keeping the tone respectful and resonant.

The Time We Lost
by Jessy Jacob

There was a time
When a wife couldn’t breathe without her man,
And he stood guard,
Shielding her from the world’s cruel hands.

There was a time
When lovers waited with sacred hope,
And a wife prayed to God
While shadows tore her robe.

But now"
Now we see women bare,
Roaming with skin exposed,
Changing bodies like bedsheets tossed,
One man to many,
Love lost in the fog of lust.

Divorce, a shortcut.
Remarry, a trend.
Betrayal dressed as pleasure,
Children aborted,
Yet dreams of more lovers still bloom.

Is it change?
Or adaptation to a world gone numb?
Families fracture,
Same blood, different masks.
Vasanas of sages,
Now soaked in negativity.

What will shift this tide?
Parents blind,
Feeding pencils to daughters,
While boys"once taught to stand tall"
Now kneel to hands that sell touch,
Not love, but torment.

Yet"
There is a way.
Some are born without burning desire,
They must learn patience.

What is the wait,
When you haven’t seen him for years?
What is the love,
That buys gifts but cannot give them in hand?
What is the bond,
That grows stronger with time,
And walks with him
To his final breath?

That is true love.
If tested, it does not fail.

But now"
Patience is rare,
Desire runs wild.
At thirty-five,
We seek travel,
A man to take us places.

Five minutes of pleasure,
For flights, for parks, for shows.
Time meant for children
Now traded
For fleeting thrills.

This is the time we live in.
This is the truth we must face????????
