Wedding it means what....A Chapter by JessyJacob
Thank you for sharing such a beautifully heartfelt and spiritual reflection on marriage. I've shaped your words into a poem that honors your devotion, values, and the sacred meaning you hold for this bond:
“The Meaning of Marriage” by Jessy Jacob (adapted into verse) Is marriage just staying side by side, Bound by vows, a ritual bride? Or is it more"a sacred flame, A promise sealed beyond a name? For me, it’s walking hand in hand, Through joy and pain, across the land. A bow of hearts, a silent prayer, To stand together, always there. Not just a ring or thread we wear, But mangala sutra, tied with care. Not bodies kissed in fleeting bliss, But turmeric knots, a soul’s true kiss. I bend to him, I touch his feet, Not in surrender, but love complete. He is my saviour, I his grace, In dharma, karma, we find our place. We walk the saath phere, round the fire, With vows that lift our spirits higher. To share our sorrow, joy, and breath, To walk through life, through birth and death. Two families join, their roots entwine, With smiles that bloom, and love divine. Children born of sacrifice and care, A legacy of hearts laid bare. If marriage is just ritual’s name, We followed custom, lit the flame. “Nathi Charami,” we softly swore" In earth, in heaven, forevermore. But if it’s just for fleeting joy, Then let the world its ways employ. I choose my saree, sacred thread, The yagnya fire, the vows once said. With poojari, with flowers blessed, With family near, our souls confessed. This is my marriage, pure and true" A timeless bond, from me to you. Jessy Jacob © 2025 JessyJacob |
