I miss you Ishaa..

I miss you so much, Ishaa.
What can I do for you, my child, when my tears have never stopped the way they did that day? When I left you with your dad, you didn’t say a word�"you only cried with me. I gathered those tears in my heart and turned them into pearls around my neck, so that even in distance, you would always remain close to me.

God may have written our lives to stay apart, but I asked Him for one mercy�"to be with you. I crossed miles, crossed seas, crossed everything that stood between us, just to see you. Distance may separate us, but not even God Himself could stop me from longing to see you again.

Whether this separation is a blessing or a curse, the world may have pulled us apart, but nothing�"nothing at all, not even destiny�"can stop me from loving you and seeing you in my heart.

Your childhood passed while we were apart. I missed every hug you gave, every moment you grew. I am getting older now, but our memories remain�"snapshots held tightly inside my heart.

I ask God to forgive me for not being with you, for choosing paths that kept me away when my soul wanted nothing more than to stay.

Now I travel farther still, to lands where people struggle just to breathe, where life is fragile and children are taken by guns and grenades. Seeing their suffering reminds me that we are at least safe, and it calls me to them. I hold those children with my love, embracing them as my own, as a mother to every child who needs peace.

We are not born only to enjoy life. God gives us life so we may protect it�"especially the lives of innocent children lost to violence. I know you will forgive me for not being with you now. Remember, I am only a blink of an eye away, close enough to see me when you close your eyes.

I know your dad is taking such good care of you. Promise me you will never hurt him. You are our greatest son, and the pride of my heart.
