ProblemsA Chapter by JessyJacobProblems often come only to those who are capable of solving them. I believe I have done my best, because God entrusted me with many problems and issues, and over time, I slowly worked through them. Each resolution came with effort, patience, and sacrifice. My husband's problems became my problems, and his problems often reflected the larger issues of the world. He relied on me to help resolve them, and I gave everything I had"emotionally, mentally, and physically"to support him. This struggle was not visible to everyone. It is easy for someone to say, “I could have solved that too,” once a solution is found. That is common psychology. But only the person who actually faces the problem knows how difficult the journey is, how much strength it requires, and what is lost in the process of solving it. I always carried a deep longing for my home. Wherever I went, my thoughts returned to the idea of home, because a home is essential for survival. Without a home, stability disappears. A person may beg for food if needed, but even then, a shelter"a tent, at the very least"is necessary to live with dignity. Home is not luxury; it is survival. Beyond personal struggles, my thoughts move toward global problems"especially the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia. History shows us that when Mikhail Gorbachev introduced a multi-party system and democratic voting, it eventually led to the dissolution of the Soviet Union into separate nations. Today, I understand that Vladimir Putin may be attempting to reunite territories, but enforcing unity through war and annexation is not a fair or acceptable approach. Dialogue and peaceful discussion are the only humane paths forward. It is clear that the intention is to control Ukraine, and in this era"2026"where the world speaks of women’s empowerment, freedom of speech, and independent living, violent control resembles the strategies of authoritarian regimes from history. This reality is widely recognized. Even India, a nation that consistently speaks of peace, has chosen neutrality. While Russia has been a long-standing ally, this war cannot be encouraged. Neutrality does not mean approval. It reflects moral hesitation. Personally, I believe India should explore oil imports from other countries and reduce dependency in ways that silently express opposition to ongoing violence. I observe how strategically China has invested in countries like Iran and Iraq, importing nearly 90% of its oil from them. China also smartly encouraged U.S. investment by offering tax-free incentives. In contrast, India embraced globalization much later, during the leadership of P. V. Narasimha Rao, when the Indian market was opened to global trade. Even today, heavy taxation blocks Chinese imports. Instead of prolonged resistance, there should be a balanced and friendly strategy"one that makes India self-sustaining while maintaining constructive relationships with China and other nations. Why can we not open our markets more thoughtfully, as China has done with many countries? China need not be seen only as an enemy. Long-standing hostility should gradually be transformed into cooperation. Even if Indian businesses do not immediately dominate international markets, trade relationships are still necessary to maintain stability and goodwill. The United States is not the only global market. At the same time, until Russia stops the war, engaging in trade without moral consideration sends the wrong message. Limiting engagement can be a quiet way of showing solidarity with Ukraine, which continues to suffer indirectly because of global silence. In the end, solving problems"whether personal or global"demands courage, fairness, and responsibility. Power without ethics only deepens wounds. Peace, cooperation, and honest intention are the only solutions that truly last. " Jessy Jacob © 2026 JessyJacob |
