## **We Are Not Ordinary**

Till he was four,
he knew me.
He recognized my face,
my voice,
my love.
He missed me
when I was gone.

But when I saw him at seven,
something had changed.
His eyes held distance.
His heart held questions.

“Why did you take divorce?”
he asked me.

Words too heavy
for a child to carry.

I do not know
what he felt deep inside
when his cousin asked,
“Do you have a stepmom?”

He simply said,
“Yes.”

Just one word �"
but how much pain
did it hide?

People told him,
“Your mom left you.
Your dad brought another mom.”

And at that small age,
he survived that truth.
He stood there
and carried it
without breaking.

I still don’t understand
why God made us endure this.

In Houston,
my to-be husband watched my life,
knew my story,
knew my wounds.
Yet the suffering did not stop.

Dear God,
I married You in faith
without ever seeing You.
I believed You live
inside every human heart.

Then why this trial?
Why this fire
that even a strong mother
should never face?

Did we try to teach people
how to live with truth?
Or did people become so clever
they think they can cheat God?

Do they need lessons �"
or do they want sacrifice?
Do they want our pain
so they can escape
their own sins
without punishment?

We are done teaching.
They already know right from wrong.
They just choose to make us suffer.

My husband,
hold us.
Stand with us.
Let truth speak for itself.
Let those who think they are wise
see their own darkness.

You, me, and my son �"
we are not ordinary beings.

We have survived harassment,
evil thoughts,
crooked minds,
silent attacks.

And we are still standing.

Stop right there.
Enough.
