The Essence Of Me

I wrote this as a journal entry earlier this month. I read it to my cousin and she said it sounded like a peom. Enjoy.

The Essence of Me

 

- I am the girl who wears her heart on her sleeve---knowing full well it will be crushed

- I am the Christian girl—the one with morals

- I am the girl who wears black eyeliner and paints her nails the same

- I am the girl who thinks screamo music is soothing

- I am the girl whom everyone expects something from

- I am the girl who picks everything apart in her life—wondering what she could have done to make it different

- I am the girl who thinks real men wear eyeliner

- I am the girl who pours out her life in her writing

-I am the girl who overcame depression

I am the girl who smiles and dances

- I am the girl who hugs and loves

-I am the girl who prays for you

-I am the girl who gets completely lost in her music

- I am the girl who is in love with love

-I am the girl who reaches out for God

 

I am me.

This was a beautiful self portrait! I loved the way it sing songed down the page with the different colors highlighting the best of you.
