The Rose (Fade 3)

The Rose (Fade 3)

A Poem by jex

Through the cracking dawn they rose,
Lines of gold light peeking in the house as they woke

They danced,
As the day continued on

Suddenly,
The light glared at them,
As if desiring their deaths

They fought to survive,
Spiraling up towards the sky,
Yearning to give a life back

Finally they dove down,
Into the ground,
Deep into a filled abyss

In a city grave,
She woke,
And was released

She swirled away,
Slowly rising towards the sun,
Until she finally disappeared

Only trace left of her was a rose,
And one single word written on the ground:

"Love"
