Unable

Unable

A Poem by Jay M. Jones

Unable

He sits there unable, numb even, with  not a wood chip to stoke the embers of himself.

Sitting there wondering if perhaps it might be ok, to feel just for a moment or two again.

The entity of who he was frozen solid, and floating like a glacial mass in the cold, cold occean,

like snow atop a mountain peak.

Unable, he makes a futile attempt to light a match to his soul, yet nothing ignites.

Unable, he pushes forward but finds a brick wall in his path,

and he is Unable to feel anything about it.
