Was Different From beforeA Poem by jinjahmanexperimenting with quick thoughts down on paper and published before stopping to think too much about itEstablishing a courtesy Was different from before We had to meet eyes and shuffle feet And giddy a moment Before Trust set like a poached egg in vinegar
boiled water the train had broken down the lines of my face and snuffed some old regretful wrinkle and jutted its groove off the face of the earthen me, certainly I wanted to cry then But the timing was all wrong I had to stay afloat And hum, a-hum a song the rain had spoken sounds that mutteled our space and brewed an air that would follow and cocked a swallows ascent from the lows to the highest ace © 2011 jinjahman |
